Video game museum at Le Féru des sciences

We designed and built the 13 games and interactive installations at the heart of Le Féru des sciences’ video game exhibition, along with its NFC visitor badge and avatar system.

What we delivered

Cats & Foxes handled the game design, production, and development of 13 games and applications. We also built the NFC badge system that carried each visitor’s avatar from one station to the next.

Production challenge

Thirteen experiences had to be designed, prioritized, and delivered within a short production window. Each one needed to be easy for visitors to pick up, robust enough for an eight-month public run, and consistent with the rest of the exhibition.

The playable heart of the exhibition

Rather than sitting alongside the exhibits, the games were the way visitors explored much of the subject. We turned the curatorial ideas into interactions that were quick to understand and durable enough for months of daily use.

A visitor badge linked to the avatar

Visitors created an avatar, saved it to an NFC badge, and saw it reappear at different stations. The badge connected the 13 experiences and gave each visitor a thread to follow through the exhibition.
